LEARN TO COME ON THE MARK FOR LIGHT AND FOCUS.

While shooting a scene, when an actor has to move from  one place to  another in the frame or when he /she enters the frame, he /she has to  reach  a SPECIFIC MARK given to him  by  DOP’S ( camera man’s ) assistant. This mark is for appropriate light which he/she is receiving and for the focus. So that his/her image is absolutely sharp and clear.

It becomes very tricky  for a novice to hit that mark with out looking at it. If he /she shifts his/her  eyes to  look at the mark, then that  would be caught on the camera. So what should the actor do?

Our brain has a unique ability to register and record,  spaces and distances. So come on the mark, look at the placements of lights, camera, the distance of your co actors from you, shut your  eyes for a moment and mentally record the  distances of these objects . Then go to your FIRST MARK  and  just walk to that ‘Specific mark’ which is also called the FINAL MARK and you will be surprised that you are right on it.
