ACTING TIPS FOR YOUR CAREER IN BOLLYWOOD -16
(Through this I wish to share my insights as an actor/trainer with my students and other acting aspirants )
THAT EXTRAORDINARY QUALITY WHICH MAKES AN ACTOR A STAR, AND A STAR A SUPER STAR.
THE PIED PIPER OF BOLLYWOOD : SALMAN KHAN.
I was watching ‘READY’ In August 2011 at Cinemax Versova. There was this 3-4 years old little girl. I was observing she had come with her family, on every song when Salman Bhai broke into jig, she stood on her chair and whirled. That was amazing.
In 2010 January I was doing kids acting workshop at KREATING CHARAKTERS for Zee T.V’s show ‘’SHOBHA SOMNATH KI’’. There were 15 little kids aged 5 to 12 years. On the very first day of the workshop, I asked them who their favorite actor was? They all said One name SALMAN KHAN. All most all the little girls amongst them wanted to marry him. Wondered !!! I thought perhaps because his comedy and dance sequences are very animated that’s why kids relate to him and love him.
Cut…to…Exactly one year ago on 8th November 2011, I was shooting the opening sequence of ‘’EK THA TIGER’’ with Bhai in a small remote sleepy town ‘Mardin’, South Turkey. Syrian boarder is just 2kms away from Mardin , and Iraq boarder 18kms away. Remote and cut off from the world and Hindi cinema. Hardly any body new India and no one knew, who Salman Khan was.
It was a chilly morning I saw Bhai sitting in a chair enjoying sun. Few kids were playing around, unaware INDIAS BIGGEST SUPER STAR, was sitting close to them. After a while what I saw was out of the world, those kids had actually become his friends. Where ever he went those kids followed him, Thus THE PIED PIPER OF BOLLYWOOD , I was wondering why these little ones or even adults are drawn towards him.
What I realized ‘’THE CHARISHMA OF A STAR IS ALL ABOUT A VERY DELICATE AND INTRINSIC STREAK ….WHOM THE AUDIENCE WANTS TO LOOK AFTER OR LOOK UPTO …… AND THIS KHAN HAS BOTH.!!!
